They then take a journey to England to foil a plot to embarrass Frances Queen Anne, the former Anne of Austria.

DArtagnan saves his queen but loses the woman he loves, so he seeks vengeance and, in turn, instills himself firmly in the ranks of the Musketeers.

Dumas employs all his narrative skills to bring this enthralling novel to a breathtakingly gripping and dramatic conclusion.
